It reminds me of a book I read years ago, about British Intelligence Operations run out of Canada before WWII to influence American opinion against the Germany through newspaper articles. Is he saying that British Intelligence mislead American Intelligence in this case? Is that what he means by the British Tail wagging the American Dog.
I would still love to see what Israeli intelligence thought about the WMD situation. It just seems to me if there was really an issue, they wouldn't have waited 12 years to take care of the problem.
The situation with Israel in Lebanon was much like the US in Vietnam. The only way to win was to kill everybody, and that is something neither the US or Israel would ever be prepared to do.
I also agree that terror is Insurgency 101. Tar and Feathering in the American Revolution, the Guillotine in the French Revolution, all around savagery in the Russian Revolution, and bombing of the King David Hotel during the founding of Israel are all terrorist acts.
I believe it was finally codified in Carlo's Mini-Manual for the Urban Guerilla. Proof that writing stuff down is not always a good thing.
