Now how about radar? Doesn't the Ai have radar? Why can't they detect me with that when I'm on the surface sneaking up to em at night?

Last one.... Does the game model my radar and my active sonar alerting my enemy of my bearing, since active sensors usually do that?
Well as to your first question its really as simple as your too shallow. The sonar cant really pick up surface noise.

Yes they have radar at least later in the war. Your sub is a pretty low profile target making it hard to get a return off of it.

Last one, well it should but Im not sure that it does.

Heres an interesting thread on the subject http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=107947
I kinda figured it had to do with being too shallow. Thanks for confirming.

Ok so radar signature saved the devs from having to model enemy radar..

I would like to find out... guess it would be as easy as just setting up a simple scenario and then just turning on the radar and pinging the target with sonar and watch for them to respond...

Thanks for your reply...
