St. Lo was indeed sunk by kamikazes. Several other light carriers were badly damaged by them. The fleet carriers Franklin and Intrepid were also hit by kamikazes. Franklin was lucky to survive and was effectively put out of the war. Intrepid was out of action for only a few hours. The British fleet carriers Victorious and Formidable were also hit by kamikazes, but, thanks to their armoured flight decks, were quickly back in action.
