SH3Cmdr is a standalone program which enables alot of extra features and options. As it is standalone you can choose to use it on a particular patrol or not.
There is so much that SH3Cmdr adds, it's hard to recall it all but you can find the readme for SH3Cmdr here -

It's at least worth the time to d/l & install to see what the fuss is about.
If you don't feel that it warrants keeping then uninstall it.
