You can use the .tga file you have for any of the sub folders since it's just a transparent file. Just rename the existing tga file in each folder to something like *.bak and then copy your NSS_Uboat9b_shp.tga file to each folder giving it the original name of sub folder you are in. I only command 7b's and 7c's in my careers so I did the following:

Uboat7b folder:
1) Rename NSS_Uboat7b_shp.tga to NSS_Uboat7b_shp.bak
2) Copy NSS_Uboat9b_shp.tga to folder and rename as NSS_Uboat7b_shp.tga

Uboat7c folder:
1) Rename NSS_Uboat7c_shp.tga to NSS_Uboat7c_shp.bak
2) Copy NSS_Uboat9b_shp.tga to folder and rename as NSS_Uboat7c_shp.tga

By the way, this game rocks when using manual navigation with manual targeting at 100% difficulty. Just try not to go above 32x speed since the helmsman has a hard time keeping a straight course in bad weather (though I like a little of this since I pretend it's course drift due to sea currents and such). I usually just right click the navigation officer to take over his position when using time compression. That way you have a great view of the clock on the wall and the map that may show ship positions received via radio and then you can pull out of 32x time quickly (can't go above that speed when at this station).

Hope this helps.
