In a Patrol Area objective all you have to do is to stay in an (aproximatively) 100 km circle for 48 hours. That's it. No need to sink any ships. Just stay alive for 48h.
ALL objectives given at the begining of the mission must be completed before RTB (returning to base). Otherwise you won't be given a new set of objectives and you'll feel like the mission is repeating. In fact, is the same old mission.
