I've never had 8 missions the same, but I had to start a new career with 1.2.

My first mission in the new career was an agent insertion near Qingdao. Once the agent was dropped off (star turned grey), I moved back out to sea, radioed base and received a reply giving me a new mission to patrol the East China Sea. Now I'm heading to the patrol area. I didn't have to return to base nor refit at Midway.
