Well, It looks fairly simple (metal work side) only 2 power tools are required. Bench saw to cut your brass and a pillar/powerdrill, other than that most of the work can be done with jigsaws and files.
On the otherhand, if you have problems working in metal and you can draw well enough with a scale then just produce a set of drawings (like in the link) and see if a metal shop will make them for you. If you did it this way the metal work will definately cost you less than a new keyboard.
Hehe, I might see if I can blag my dad into making the metal bits for me.:hmm: He's retired and needs something to do anyway.
EDIT - It seems the hardest thing is to find the right kind of keys.
