If adjusting the volume through the game options doesn't work, try going to your Control Panel. There should be a folder there for your volumes, usually titled the same as your audio card, such as "SigmaTel Audio" or "Sounds and Audio Devices". Open this folder and look for the option to adjust your volume. On mine, I can adjust volume in the 'Audio' and 'Voice' submenus.
