I guess it would be possible, but if the ship were at wartime steaming condtions, then the doors would be closed in vital areas. Look how many hits it took to sink the actual

Shinano, it did not take much to sink her at all. The crew was untrained in damage control, and the pipe fittings were not completely sealed allowing flooding from compartment to compartment. You just never know!
