I find it a lot rougher than SH3. I have seen weather that swamped vessels in SH3 but I see it a bit more ofter in SH4. I had watched a struggling destroyer go down. It looked like the movie about the mutiny on the Kane and the really bad weather scene.

As far as lag, yes, there is some lag and it is just not good deal with weather/lag to waste torpedoes. As fare as realism, the weather modelled well and I do not get 3 weeks of fog and ran. Maybe 3 days. What is cool is the weather does not go from one extreme to the other. The huge swells quietly calm down over a period of hours. I really like the weather model in the game. Other than that, I radio in the location and move on to quieter hunting grounds.
