Hmm, OK thanks Gildor. Guess that makes sense, at least from the viewpoint of a bureaucracy.
I didn't sink any ships when RTB, was low on torps and only 2 likely merchant contacts, both at night and in a rainstorm so heavy I couldn't even ID the target much less get a solution
Several convoys reported, but far enough away I didn't have the fuel to make the run and still get back to Midway.
I guess then to maximize Renown one should ignore most targets of opportunity until the "Patrol" part is complete, and save the fish for Part 2?
