A really great sim, with huge potential.
I recognize that I might not be nowadays fully impartial. I'm not a just-arrived gamer who has bought in the shop for 40$ (or whatever) a DVD box with something called "Silent Hunter 4" inside, but.....I am VERY happy to see we have finally got to the end of a long way and have SH4 here.
Go on, those of you who critisize anything. You might be right on some or even many aspects. But I made the long and lonely "desert crossing" and I see what the present and near-future brings: The best ever pacific submarines game. And I'm happy with what I see coming!
I have waited too long to see this, just to waste my time now in whining about some bugs that will be addressed soon.

I can only add my signature to that (except for the Pacific Aces Dev part, where I was no member in).
The Romanian Dev team just delivered another excellent simulation of naval warfare, which is a niche market within a niche market anyway, just to mention that in case someone forgot about it. It's been a long way, and albeit they might have gotten some things wrong/bugged, I've been so sick of running U-Boats against the same kind of convoys over and over and over, and am glad to be back in the Pacific - "Let's party like it's 1996". Hell, we are talking ELEVEN YEARS here. Some of the ppl posting on these boards weren't even yet outa their diapers at that time. In this context, I found the notion of some ppl that "Next subsim must be Atlantic!!!!111!!" hilarious, and from what one can gather from sales figures as of yet, it wasn't exactly a mistake to ignore that either.
