Eh, it wasn't bad. I'm probably jaded, though. The documentary that Sonalysts shipped with the "Naval Combat Pack" (see the upper right of your IE window right now) was WAY better. Covered the US Silent Service from its inception to the modern day, rather than just some stock WW2 propaganda films and advertisements for other DVDs.
Of course, it was a purpose-made documentary BY Sonalysts, very professionally done, complete with interviews and introductions to each chapter by Jimmy Carter.
Still, I would be happy to recommend the "Naval Combat Pack" up there for this alone - easily worth the $20 outright, forget the 3 games it comes with.
Saying, in comparison, the Sh4 extras are worth the full $50 of the game is...a stretch. In comparison, anyway. They are certainly nice to have, and we definitely have a LOT of 'value adds' to this title. I mean, a PRINTED 100 page manual? What century IS this? I thought kids couldn't read any more??? And the map of the full pacific (even bigger than the 'Silent Service II' map, and a LOT more colors), ship recognition guide, etc...
...yeah, we definitely got the moneys worth out of the extras, here. (But the "Naval Combat Pack" DVD *is* better!)
