If you really want to try the Type II, which I like by the way. Start your career via SH3 Commander and preselect your port and patrol area. Last night I was testing a new mod and started a career in 09/1940 with a type IID.

Great fun, its wearing Fubars IID skin, camo style, looks great. I have SH Weather going and we are now in a raging gale and you should see that little boat pitch up and down all over the ocean....talk about sea sick.

The Type II is fun for short patrols and coastal work. Type VII is a great weapon! But you can enjoy both!
