Saw my 1st life boat tonight, following my 1st real kill while on patrol
Took down a jap freighter in the east china sea, pretty sloppy since it was my 1st real attempt with manual targeting. Two fish, one missed, next hit. Surfaced and finished her off with deck gun.
A single life boat got away, with about 4 or 5 guys in it. They were rowing for all they were worth, and it was a sight to see!!!! I was running at flank speed trying to catch 'em and just barely closing the distance... I can only guess those japs attended Harvard or Yale on a sculling scholarship
Was kinda bizarre that the lifeboat could almost outrun my sub. Another bug maybe?
