Drug companies spend billions of dollars developing and testing drugs. The final phase before release uses several hundred people.
After the drug hits the shelves, and several thousand or several hundred thousand use it, side effects show up and sometimes the drug has to be recalled or its use restricted. I could name many drugs from thalomide to Vioxx.
The game developers with a very limited budget and pressure to get the game to the market so the company could make some money; a much more severe problem. They test it on a few machines and with a small number of testers for a limited time (Drug companies spend, on average, over a decade testing).
So they have bugs. Unless the game is a direct knockoff of another game, or is so simple a child could program it, it will have to have bugs and problems.
That's my opinion.
I am just glad the Ubisoft people gave us a frame to work with; the improvement of SHIII by the modeling community with the great mods
should give you'all (I'm from Southern Indiana) hope that SHIV will also come to be great. It does me.
