Not at all, Penelope, everyone of us have been very happy after our first carrier/battleship sunk !!
To tell you the truth, I've been lucky
one and only time : I was at periscope depth, when the sonarman detected 3 battleships at flank speed coming on my way
. Luckily, I got them all : the Revenge, the Nelson, and I don't remember what was the third, that was my best tonnage patrol, I sunk something like 300.000 t. But I've been lucky to be at the right place at the right moment, on the way of this convoy....
Most of the time it's about luck.
When I sink a battleship it's at Scapa Flow, most of the time, when I see a stationed one.
