I tried all the Vista betas. I didn't see much there that was better than XP other than it being like a sad rip off of OSX. It runs slower, has many more annoying GUIs things (like needing to give permission to just change your desktop image). I see no reason to reach beyond XP at the moment, especially since backwards compatibility is still not even close to sufficient. No point in a 64 bit system that can't run anything.
