Good lord. I've made the mistake of accidentally hitting the windows key that opens the start menu and it minimized SH3 and... it took nearly as long to get back into SH3 as it did to load it. I wish there were a way to set the priority permanently. Windows is sssssssssllllllllllllooooooowwwwww, especially with SH3.

But in addition to the prioity thing definitely eliminate as many background programs and processes. Its amazing the crap that windows runs by default that you don't need. You can disable most of it through "run/msconfig" and there you can change your startup progs and the processes that run. Though I wouldn't touch the processes til you can find a guide that explains them. I once disabled someting that made my ATI Catalyst Control Centre stop functioning and I couldn't figure how to fix it. Be careful, Windows is like a bitchy mistress thats having her period 24/7.
