Today school is expected to neutralize the mistakes of parents, or the dysfunctional family environment of theirs. And that is a bit beyond the reach of what school can do. It's also not the school's responsebility to take care of principle education of the kids, but their parent's. That includes that parents are not out of house 18 hours a day, but spend time with their kids and take care of what theirs kids invest interest in and what/whom they pick as their idols, also that parents don't spend half of the family income for alcohol, and take care of what an example they set themselves in order to teach "positive values" to their kids.

Neither the state nor the school can compensate for a good job done by the parents. And I strongly believe that it really should be like that.
