Almost to a point where I'm considering holding off on SH4 until these important features are modded in there. Simply jumping from action to action is way too arcade-ish for my taste, and not to mention unsuitable for a serious simulation. Slowing things down a bit and allowing yourself to experience some of the everyday submariner "boredom" by wandering around the decks, or relaxing in the captains cabin is IMO a critical feature when it comes to immersion. Instead it looks like we are going to be limited to experience the pacific war as a swivelling head stuck in a single location of the control room with an option to instantly jump into the conning tower where we can sulk all by our lonesome... OR we can play the game like a console gamer and do it all in external view...

I'm very saddened by the news in this thread.
