I am extremely dissapointed that the captain's cabin and the radio room was left out... Angry in fact... Almost to a point where I'm considering holding off on SH4 until these important features are modded in there. I was seriously looking forward to being able to relax in my cabin with a good book listening to the radio while transporting myself back to the 40's. I can't count the number of times that I have literally fallen asleep in my bunk in SH3 - the soothing engine sounds and the creaking hull put's me in a state of peace unmatched by any other game before it.

Simply jumping from action to action is way too arcade-ish for my taste, and not to mention unsuitable for a serious simulation. Slowing things down a bit and allowing yourself to experience some of the everyday submariner "boredom" by wandering around the decks, or relaxing in the captains cabin is IMO a critical feature when it comes to immersion. Instead it looks like we are going to be limited to experience the pacific war as a swivelling head stuck in a single location of the control room with an option to instantly jump into the conning tower where we can sulk all by our lonesome... OR we can play the game like a console gamer and do it all in external view...

I'm very saddened by the news in this thread.
