I have just spent the last two nights trying to get back home after using all my torps, successfully sinking a medium merchant, and then evading the swarm of destroyers intent on paying me back. At last! I thought, I have DONE it; racked up a kill, me and the crew are on our way UP!.

Does that mean I will not get ANY sort of renown for the kill, and that we will be sneered at, have backs turned on us, and laughed out of port? Oh, the disappointment, the shame, humiliation; what a dumbkopf I am. No wonder the crew stop talking and look away when I come by.
