Silent Hunter III gave the Hurricane 4 x 20mm cannon, and I don't think anyone has yet gotten around to replacing those with the 8 x 0.303-cal Browning machine guns they used historically during the first two years of the war.
One thing that has changed in GWX is that aircraft will actually strafe you in addition to dropping bombs. IIRC this work was pioneered by Sergbuto with the assistance of the NYGM team, among others.
Just another reason not to fight aircraft on the surface, I guess...
