The Uberboat Mod just made me realise an idea. Is it possible to include an additional class of playable submarine into the game and make it work in the career? After all the Typ XXI wasn't a completely new development but was based on the Typ XVIII Walter boat. Unfortunately no unit was completed. But it had tremendous potential.
Even though the range was limited (3000 sm @ 17kn which should translate into at least 6000 sm @ 10 kn) it has the same offensive punch as the Typ XXI (23 torpedoes) and a significantly higher underwater speed (24 kn!) and endurance (202 sm @ 24 kn).
In reality the boats were converted to Typ XXI boats with normal Dieselelctric engines. Would be nice to be in command of this boat, even if it was just for a few months in 1945
