Off-Topic, but the same theme: I used to drive a van for a living. My car had a manual transmission, the van was an automatic. More than once I tried to put the van into Reverse by reaching down to the floor.
Worse was the time I stopped my car and tried to jam it into Park. I nearly broke the turn-signal stalk off the the steering column!
