If you have d/l a RAR file you now need to extract it. Right-Click on the archive and choose 'extract here', this should place the GWX 1.02 Patch.exe file in the same folder as the archive. Now just run the exe and it should patch.
Not sure why it came to you as a RAR though.:hmm:
To solve your problem with the archives being labelled as a .doc file, open WINRAR and find the options/preferences menu and look for 'file
association' or 'file types' and make sure that the following are ticked..../.zip/.7z/.rar. These are the most common archive formats and should be all you need.
