Actually I'm having the reverse problem: I'm having the watch crew pipe up with 'ship spotted' every 10 seconds, yet when I query my WO I get 'No visual contact'.
It's really frustrating when it's a convoy around 15km out, and I'm trying to increase the distance in order to exit visual range and do a flank run ambush: my watch crew sounds like excited magpies chirping 'ship spotted' non-stop, yet the ships are barely visible as smoke on the horizon, let alone actually being seen.
