This man authored a great book and an interesting book. He took from his own experiences and that of others and came up with the book "Das Boot".
Those that say he embellished the U-Boot experiences especially his own, I say so what. I read to learn and be entertained and his book did that.
If we all could write and allow others to visulize the written contents it would be great. But alas, only some are so gifted. The author of Das Boot was one of those.
