you have to have the whole convoy in visual range i believe. i sent contact report on that occasion and got help from 2 VIIC u-boats sailing side by side
i was heading in the other direction coz id used all my fish on the convoy and was going home.
it does take them a while to reach you so by the time you have sent the report they will probably arrive when your getting out of there
