As long as you have a place to stay, that is all that matters.
Thinking back though, all my life I never had a place I would call my own and only my own. I always rented rooms from friends so that I could save money for things I really wanted (Maybe I am materialistic at times, but oh well - I had a thing for cool gadgets that outweigh'd the need for having my own place back then). I couldn't stand paying for a place all to myself at the expense of the next coolest thing.
Then you get married, and you think you are getting your own place until you figure out you still have to share with your wife! :p I do have one rule - she can decorate how she wants, get whatever she wants furniture wise, anything - just don't even think of touching my speakers! If they weren't 200 lbs. ea though, she probably would throw them off the deck, but since they are, I'm pretty safe I think.
