Yep, I'm with Mookie on this one! There I was on patrol #2 at 96m bottomed out. I was pinged to death and then DC'd to death  . No dice for hanging on the bottom.  I stay were it is REALLY DEEP! |
That's exactly how it happened to me. I made a big mistake, attacking this convoy off the northern coast of Scotland. When it comes time to evade, I ping the depth...
"Depth under keel is 50 meters, sir!"  
During my evasion maneuvers I planted the boat on the bottom a bit too hard, tearing out the keel and causing major flooding. The DD's just finished me off while I sat helpless at the bottom. It was my 2nd patrol, too. I guess that makes me a full fledged memeber of the club.
Lesson learned: always know how much real estate you have under you before you attack! |
