One of my favourite patrols was when I attacked a convoy in about 80m of water (I know...I was impetuous!
) and I was being DC'd. I was skulking about 3m from the bottom and some DCs slammed me into the seabed. I was stuck there with no engines for quite some time really battling with the flooding, all the while new DCs are raining from above. Eventually the DDs left and I finally managed to get the boat afloat. It felt like I'd just reenacted a portion of Das Boot!!!
