The ones from the stock game? The tutorials on navigation, artillery and torpedoes?
Yes, these. You don't have to go through all of them, as well as you don't have to get 'excellent' grade for each one. The most bonus renown points you'll ever get from completing the missions is 1000 (for total of 1500 = 500 + 1000), so it should be enough to go through 2-3 of them with excellent grades or all with average. Then you'll be awarded 1500 renown points on start of each of your careers.

As stated above, you could also simply edit a file:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\SH3\data\cfg\NavalAcademy.log
Not a real cheat, as you've probably went through the training missions before, and it's pointless to do it every time you install the game anew.

You can try these values, should work well:
Code:
[PLAYER]
Name=Player
Rank=10
Exam0=false
Result0=1000
Exam1=false
Result1=1000
Exam2=false
Result2=1000
Exam3=false
Result3=1000
Exam4=false
Result4=1000
EDIT: I'm not sure, but the values should be 'true' instead of false in the above example, I suppose. I haven't done the training missions on the installation I've got on this computer, so I can't check it. :|
