Quite a few years ago she had married an old rich man who died not too long afterwards and she inherited a ton of money.

Theres some speculation that theres a little more to it than that. Apparently her lawyer, who has been mooching off her for awhile now, was seen by a witness giving the son methadone which, combined with the antidepressants he was taking, caused his death (the lawyer denies it). Now the lawyer is claiming that he's the father of her new baby which if he is successful puts him in charge of all that money until the baby turns 18...
