As fas as I know bmps are a lot bigger as jpgs I think....for those having a fast DSL connection or faster it would be no problem at all...but keep in mind that not all have such a fast connection and for them it would take a while til the bmps are shown when they open the thread.....I think thatīs the main reason for jpgs instead of bmps.
Just my piece of thought to that.
