I don't know if this screeching is related to the graphics card but I had a similar problem and it was linked to the mouse.
I used to use the mouse (optical mouse, no led, laser one) in "hardware mode" in dw and would get a high pitch during during gameplay.
Realised that by enabling "software mode" for the mouse would eliminate that high pitch sound. |
Well, that is still related more to graphic card than to mouse, because the "hardware mode" or "software mode" is just way the cursor is drawn by the graphic card (not that it matters in our case anyway)
