stabilized turrets had been around a long time

uzo most likely had a gimble type stabilizer like early
steady cams did


with a long counter balance offset below it so when ship pitches
one way counter balance earns its name.
not actally magic nor actually very sophisticated by todays standards
but effective in geatly improving stability.
