Maybe they've got something against German-made war films? Der Untergang (aka Downfall) was nominated yet failed to win and I thought that was an outstanding film too. I haven't seen the Spanish film that did win, though, so I can't say if it is genuinely better or not...  |
Possibly ... Over the years I have also come to the conclusion that rarely the best films win. How else do you think does a mediocre movie like "Titanic" could've won so many Oscars. For a movie based on an historic event it's pretty unrealistic
Maybe it's just my taste in movies. After all I'm an old European, and we're all backward and different (no I haven't forgiven Rumsfeld either) :rotfl:
