Yes... that happened even to me last night. I saved my career, extremely bored after not sinking anything for almost a month, and decided to try port raiding as a 'single mission mode' (intended to reload my career back after having some fun and proceeding as usually, without this port crap). Went to Dakar. Blown on a mine/subnet [?]. Had to surface. Spotted by a schooner. Damaged heavily (fuel leaks and no fuel any more, damaged batteries, diesel destroyed, h.i. about 60%). After leaving Dakar there was no hope - 2k kms from nearest resupplu ship that cannot even repair my boat, thrice as far to nearest base without fuel... I'll never try to entertain myself that way again.
