Yes, you are right about that actually.

The Salmon class had already been confirmed for SHIV, and maybe the Dev team member answering the question got mixed up (as the SHIII dev team did with the River class DE in the actual release). If that is true, then maybe there will be no 'original' S class after all.

BTW - As I recall, Pacific General was one game which mixed up those two sub classes.
