Don't be so sure about that. From a quantum-physical point of view popcorn consists of almost nothing else but empty space, in there some abstract probabilities of certain ammounts of nothingness to exist, sometimes even backwards in time.
What I mean is it makes no difference wether you eat it or not, cause nothing is nothing. Both you and your popcorn came from out of nothing and will go back to nothing. What have you lost or gain then when eating it or not? Nothing!
In other words: eat or get eaten. It doesn't matter.
