Maybe old news, but I got the DVD of this two-hour PBS documentary from the library. I didn't get to watch the original broadcast, but this is one of the best I've ever seen. The story of the discovery of U-869 off the coast of New Jersey is fascinating in of itself, but the film is fleshed out with an excellent overview of the Battle of the Atlantic and sub warfare in general.
Besides, any film that has interviews with U-Boat vets is worthwhile. This gets a definite
from ol' Thomsen.
