Cause im impatient and want to get the hell out of port and out to sea. Although ill use a max of 256 to get out of port. What this is really handy for is harbor raids. Bottom the boat, sound out the harbor escorts to know their patrol patterns, then advance the game clock and move in at the time you feel most opportune.

Because i go away from the keyboard alot. Wife yapping? Gotta get ready for work? gotta do something around the house? No problem. Game pauses for me, and i deal with the problem when i get back to the keyboard.

Because i only have so much time to devote to the game, and i like to go to far away places. This is VERY handy for those long transits when enroute to patrol areas. Even at 2048, it takes like 20 mins or so just to cross the atlantic. I only use this when in a long transit however. I wouldnt recommend doing that in biscay bay or near freetown  |
