While I agree that I think the subs should be more vulnerable to torpedo hits, it's not necessarily true that a single hit would automatically fatally damage a sub. The FIDO ASW aucoustical homing torpedo did not destroy every U-boat it hit; quite a few were simply damaged . . . although I really don't think calling the damage they
did do was just 'simple'.
