I was playing when all of a sudden my screen blinked and GWX was minimized. There was the probably cause!
Apparently, GWX is eating up my memory worse than Morrowind ever did back in the day. So much so that I'm being told that my Virtual Memory is running low. So, how can I fix this? Is it an inherent problem in GWX, or is there some maintenance I need to perform on my rig?

What is your spec? There are a bunch of tools that will clean up most of the junk that Windows leave behind in TEMP directories etc. I find jv16 power tools, Tweek XP and also use Spybot S&D to clean up the registry. Get as much free HDD space as you can and make sure you ALWAYS empty the recycle folder as it takes up sapce you could be using for swap.
Because SHIII is a resource hog you should get as much memory as your mainboard can handle. I've got 1.5Gb and have no probs though and swap whilst used doesn't exceed any thresholds.
