Doesn't sound dumb at all.
Font is basically text style/shape/design.
This is Verdana font,
while this is Times New Roman,
and this is Arial.
You can select different ones for your post; at the top, just under where it says 'Message:' you'll see a drop-down box that should have Verdana selected. There is where you can change the font for your messages if you wish.
There are tons of fonts in the world. Including different ones in game for messages, etc.
