I have been thinking about this and I think I'll keep them onboard until I have returned to port. This way SH3Cmdr will track their 'deaths' and give an accurate patrol report.
Example - my last patrol had a total tonnage of 98000 (+ change). 17 Aircraft + 4 x Large Merchant/Cargo + HMS Nelson. Now the ships aren't special (just high tonnage) but the 17 aircraft were and as a result I paid the price by loosing all 3 of my flak gunners. (didn't realise until too late that I was out of ammo
).
If I didnt have the record of loosing my gunners then I would assume this patrol to be unrealistic in terms of tonnage scored. However, I can take solice in the fact that I/they paid the price.
