is the difficulty in spotting you when you are opposite the sunrise/sunset modelled?

One thing that I've noticed makes an amzing difference to your observibility is your profile - I wasn't paying attention the other day and I approached a bit close to a merchant before I turned parallel to him to get ahead - I thought I was ok, I was still a ways off and it was very rough. the detection meter was all green - but as soon as I turned 90 deg to him it went red, I was spotted and he started weaving
Fortunately he was an unarmed merchant, so I just headed straight for him and let him have 2 tubes @ fast speed from 400m and he didn't have time to take evasive action
